What moles of enstatite is produced if a melt have 10moles of forsterite and 2moles of sio2?

    Answer: 2 moles of Enstatite Enstatite = Mg2Si2O6 Forsterite = Mg2SiO4 1 mole of Forsterite reacts will 1 mole of SiO2 to produce 1 mole of Enstatite. 1 mole Mg2SiO4 + 1 mole SiO2 = 1 mole Mg2Si2O6 For the given condition, the reaction should be: 10 mole Mg2SiO4 (Forsterite) + 2 mole SiO2 = 8 mole Mg2SiO4 (Forsterite) + 2 mole Mg2Si2O6 (Enstatite) So, only 2 moles of Enstatite will be produced because SiO2 is limited (only 2 moles)
