Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

Homoaromaticity, in organic chemistry, refers to a special case of aromaticity in which conjugation is interrupted by a single spยณ hybridized carbon atom.ย
sir can u pls send me any examples
yes wait
A homoaromatic compound is defined as a compound that contains one or more sp3 hybridised carbon atom in a conjugated cycle . In order for the pi orbitals to overlap more effectively so as to close a loop the sp3 atoms are forced to lie almost vertically above the plane of the aromatic system When cyclooctatetraene is dissolved in acid ( concern.H2SO4) the H+ ion is added to one of the double bonded carbon to form homotropylium ion . In this spices aromatic sextet is spread over seven carbon atom as in tropylium ion . The eight carbon is sp3 carbon atom & it can't take part in aromaticity
you onow that due to presence of sp3 carbon compound become non aromatic??
yes due to absence of planarity
yes because whole compound become non planar. and due to non planarity conjunction is not possible. so compound become non aromatic
yes sir
this is the special and famous case in which sp3 carbon goes out of plane but still whole compound is not non planar, still bonds are present in plana and can conjugate and make it aromatic
now got it??
yes sir I get it ๐๐๐๐
tq sir
