    intersection of these two are not a single point. intersection will be a parabola. see the attachment

    Satpal sir the equation of parabola you wrote is a half-cylinder and the parabola is only a curve(a part of the equation you wrote), what to do now??

    it is equation in only two variables x and y . represents a parabola. for cylinder there must be three variables or two surfaces
