    Answer: Graded Bedding, tangential cross stratification and flute cast can be used as a way-up (younging) indicator. Planar lamination can't be used as a way up indicator because of their symmetrical morphology. Graded Bedding: Fining up sequence. Coarse grain will indicate older direction and fining direction will show progressively younger sequence. Tangential cross stratification: Tangential part of cross bed will indicate older direction whereas truncating part will indicate younger direction. Flute cast: Bulbous nose of flute cast will indicate older direction whereas tapering direction will indicate younger direction.
