dear student whatever option you have given here at both should not given Carbocation rearrangement because double 1,2 shift is not possible at normal condition but 1,2 shift after that ring expansion and then methyl transfer is possible so correct answer will be B. thank you very much for asking this question best luck

only B undergoes rearrangement. Reason - After each arrangement in the carbocation, the newly formed carbocation must be more stable than previous one. if not then rearrangement is not possible. stability can be checked by Aromaticity, resonance, hyperconjugation etc. Check below attachment to understand concept....

Rearrangement is possible only in B Carbocation rearrangement can occur twice, thrice but the condition is that every time after rearrangement there is increase in stability

also in 1st case number of hc h atom increases

no see after first rearrangement stability decreases

At last stability increases but after first carbocation rearrangement stability decreases

    hope you got this

    only B will go rearrangement

    eduncle-logo-app

    why????

    eduncle-logo-app

After every rearrangement carbocation formed must be more stable than previous

    see this

stability is reduced so rearrangement will not occur
