what is a (Remnant ocean basins?? are defined as shrinking ocean basins caused by collision between continental margins and/or an arc–trench system, with accumulated deep-water sediments that are derived mainly from the associated suture zones and are ultimately subducted or deformed within suture belts . Due to continued oblique subduction of the Indian Plate beneath the Burmese Plate, the Bengal Basin evolved into a remnant ocean basin Also Pacific is a great example of Remnant one because of side subduction.
