Which one is gerade and ungerade and how?

    An alternative method for determining the symmetry of the molecular orbital is to rotate the orbital about the line joining the two nuclei and then rotate the orbital about the line perpendicular to this. If the sign of the lobes remains the same, the orbital is gerade, and if the sign changes, the orbital is ungerade

    reshav in generally always sigma bonding orbitals are gerade while sigma anti bonding,pi bonding and pi antibonding..are ungerade

    So here in first case s-p mixing bonding case along internuclear axis it is gerade and in antibonding case it is ungerade

    When a point on an orbital is inverted and equal distance through the centre of the molecule, the orbital is said to be gerade(g) if it has the same sign at the two points ,otherwise it is said to be ungerade(u). ... If there were four s orbitals, that would have made some sense.
