Time management is very much important in IIT JAM. The eduncle test series for IIT JAM Mathematical Statistics helped me a lot in this portion. I am very thankful to the test series I bought from eduncle.

While finding the rank of some matrix then you have to take care of following: 1) Find the determinant. If determinant is not zero then rank of n×n matrix will be n. If determinant is zero then you have to find a non-zero cofactor. Then rank of the matrix will be n-1. 2) Yes, you have to do row and column operations while finding the rank of the matrix.
sir i jus wanted to know if im resolving the matrix by using row operation ..then can i apply column operation simultaneously?
I think there is use of column operations if required.
