At the zone of aeration the most chemical wheathering takes palce due to presence of most dissolved oxygen.
but sir weathering is surficial process..then why not surface?
on the surface as you know physical wheathering is most dominant than that of your chemical one..and water is most required for chemical wheathering so above water table we find water dissolved with oxygen..and all areas Don't have water on surface like arid.
