Why is answer different if i take displacements in terms of sin(omegat)other than cos(omegat) the amplitude i will get the same for both but the angle will diff

why is answer different if I take displacements in terms of Sin(OmegaT)other than cos(OmegaT) the amplitude I will get the same for both but the angle will diff

    as cos is an even function it does not change the nature of function but sin is odd function it changes the Nature of function so for convenience we take cos as the function is not affected by taking cos that's why always we use cos when we have to choose from our side

    but is taking sin not allowed i mean if im taking sin should my answer be called wrong

    not it is not wrong logically but in order to match ans or considering the standard form we used to take cos if you will take sin there will be just phase difference
