Why methionine is first amino acid?

    The first amino acid put into proteins is methionine, since that is the amino acid specified in the genetic code for the first codon of a protein. Methionine is specified by the codon AUG, which is also known as the start codon.

    since aug is start codon...so consequence of this it is taken methionine as first amino acid
