Dear Shweta, inert is something which is not reactive in nature. So, when you add inert gas at constant volume, the other gases in mixture doesn't get affected and their partial pressure remains same because the volume is constant too. And if partial pressure doesn't change, there will be no change in Kp values.

    Hope it helps. 😊

Adding an inert gas into a gas-phase equilibrium at constant volume does not result in a shift. This is because the addition of a non-reactive gas does not change the partial pressures of the other gases in the container.

    Got this shweta???

partial pressure other gases ke change nhi honge...so equilibrium me koi shift nhi hoga
