Sweta I did not get your doubt.

    eduncle-logo-app

why this compound name is cis -----

    eduncle-logo-app

See the orientation of the substituent. If both are in same direction then it is cis

    eduncle-logo-app

Please note the orientation. Let me explain you by example

    eduncle-logo-app

    Note ch2oh & ch3 orientation

    eduncle-logo-app

    Are you getting this Sweta

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes

groups at equatorial position are more stable than Axial position because there is no 1,3 diaxial interconversions on equatorial position

    eduncle-logo-app

why this compound name is cis

    eduncle-logo-app

    I m asking this

    eduncle-logo-app

because 1,3 cis position is a,a/e,e in chair confirmation of cylohexane

    eduncle-logo-app

    ok sir

    eduncle-logo-app

    thanks

    eduncle-logo-app

please accept the answer if you got it 🙏🙏

    eduncle-logo-app

    check this stereo

    eduncle-logo-app

    got it??

    eduncle-logo-app

    yea

bulky tertiary butyl group at equatorial position is stable. if it is in axial position 1,3 diaxial interaction is present...he certainly it is unstable at axial

    eduncle-logo-app

streric strain and 1,3 diaxial interaction s

At equatorial position, substituents is free from diaxial interactions...so it tends to be more stable at equatorial position...

    eduncle-logo-app

    Got it shweta??

    eduncle-logo-app

    yes

    eduncle-logo-app

just know the cis and trans position..which you know...and then put all these group according to stability

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kFOWBZasd7jebWrAaj90elAwpLoXCRpo/view?usp=drivesdk shweta check some questions on conformation of cyclohexane and their stability order

    eduncle-logo-app

    ok sir

    eduncle-logo-app

    sry for the late reply

    eduncle-logo-app

yes shweta.. you read that no interactions at equatorial position

    eduncle-logo-app

sir why this compound name is cis

    eduncle-logo-app

although both feet and methyl are in equatorial position

    eduncle-logo-app

    At 1,3 e,e and a,a is cis

    eduncle-logo-app

So this both is in cis form after flipping too

    eduncle-logo-app

now got shweta or any doubt??

    eduncle-logo-app

    ok
