    No in tidal setting the fluctuating current produces herringbone...it's not like high tide low tide its like 1 long age Gap of tide interchange direction so this cross strtification changes direction. Lake the water is stagnant so no fluctuation so no herringbone

    No, in general herringbone cross bedding is characteristic of tidal environment. In Lake conditions, the herringbone structure can't form because of unavailability of equal strength tidal conditions. However, in exceptional cases herringbone structure can be found in Lake sediments as well (specially in case of large lakes).
