Wt is neogene?

The Himalayan Neogene succession is represented by Dagshai Formation Swaik Group and Karea Formaion Subathu Formation Kasauli Formation

    Ans: Paleogene and Neogene are two periods of Cenozoic (shown in the attached geological time scale). As you know that Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous and Permian are geological periods of Palaeozoic, in the same way Neogene is a Period of Cenozoic. Neogene period ranges from 23 million years to recent. Himalayan Neogene succession is represented by Siwalik Group.
