    It has to be Cordierite, not biotite as in case of biotite black haloes is more pronounced. These haloes are attributed to the phenomenon of absorption of light.

    IN CORDIERITE THE YELLOW PLEOCHORIC HALOS CAN BE SEEN, WHERE AS IN BIOTITE ITS BLACK IN COLOUR.
