In 1943, CSIR approved the proposal to establish the first five national laboratories - the National Chemical Laboratory, the National Physical Laboratory, the Fuel Research Station, and the Glass and Ceramics Research Institute. And, the target of developing these CSIR Research laboratories was accomplished in 1950.
