SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2022 – Qualification, Age Limit & Nationality

 

As per the SBI exam norms, an aspirant must satisfy some of the eligibility criteria to fill up the SBI Clerk Application Form. Only after fulfilling all the requirements candidate is eligible for the exam.

Below, we have provided the detailed SBI Clerk exam eligibility.

 

 

SBI Clerk Educational Qualification

 

The candidate must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent degree recognized by the Central Government.

Candidates with an integrated dual degree are also eligible, but they must ensure that their date of passing is on or before 1st January 2022.

Such candidates who are in the final year or semester of their graduation can also appear in the exam, but the applicable condition is that if candidates are selected, they need to provide proof of having passed the graduation on or before 1st January 2022.

 

 

Age Limit

 

Candidate should not be less than 20 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as on 1st January 2022. Candidate must not be born before 2nd January 1994 and after 1st January 2002.

SBI also provides the age relaxation of the Upper Age Limit. Check the table given below.

The actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a max. age of 50 years

Widows, Divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands & who are not remarried

7 years (subject to the maximum age limit of 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC & 40 years for SC/ST candidates)

 

Note: Candidates who are eligible for age relaxation must provide a valid document at the time of joining.

 

 

Nationality

 

A candidate must be either –

 A Citizen of India or

A Subject of Nepal or

A Subject of Bhutan or

A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle in India or permanently

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from the following countries to settle in India permanently -

(Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam).

 

 

SBI Bank Clerk Eligibility - Other Important Factors

 

Those candidates who belong to the OBC category but fall in the ‘creamy layer’ are not entitled to relaxation given to the OBC ‘non-creamy layer’ category.

Candidates who belong to the non-creamy layer must submit the OBC category certificate prescribed as per the Government of India. Those candidates who belong to the creamy layer need to mention the “general” or “general (LD/VI/HI/d&e) category.

Candidates who are working in the State bank of India as PO or clerical cadre are not eligible to apply.

Ex-employers who have any adverse report regarding the character & antecedents, etc., are not eligible to apply.

PwD candidates need to produce the “Disability Certificate” as proof issued by Medical or any Component Authority in the district of residence.

 

Note: First priority in the matter of appointment will be given to the DXS (Disabled Ex-Servicemen), and second priority will be given to dependents of defense personnel killed in action or severely disabled (Over 50% disability).
