A kettle is a depression, several miles long & about 100 ft deep, which marks the place where a block of ice left by retreating glacier was buried within the outwash deposit and later has melted away leaving a cavity. When this cavity is filled up with water, kettle lakes are formed. So, greater the size of the buried ice block, larger is the kettler lake. Hence, (D) is the correct answer.
