To apply for Lectureship, you will require: -

 

UGC NET Eligibility for Lectureship

Professor

PhD aspirants who passed a master’s degree before 19th September 1992 with a minimum of 55% percentage marks & 10 years of working experience as a teacher.

Assistant Professor

A master’s degree with a minimum of 55% percentage marks.

Associate Professor

Ph.D. aspirants who passed a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% percentage marks & 8 years of working experience as a teacher.

UGC NET Eligibility Norms for Lectureship

 

 

Norms for Professor

 

To apply for the post of Professor, you must have a PhD in a concerned stream. You should have high-quality work published and engaged with a minimum of 10 publications as research, books, and policy pagers. &

You must have a regular master’s degree with a minimum of 55% percentage marks from a recognized university. &

You should have 10 years working experience as a teacher in College/ University or practical observation of research at National Level Institutions, University, Doctoral Level and Industries. &

You must obtain a minimum score from the API (Academic Performance Indicator) presented by PBAS (Performance Based Appraisal System) of the University Grant Commission Regulation Act. OR

You should have excellent professional knowledge to make a reputation in the concerned area that gives a contribution to an allied stream.

 

 

Norms for Assistant Professor

 

You must have a master’s degree with a minimum of fifty-five (55%) percentage marks from UGC recognized University. &

You should have qualified NET (National Eligibility Test) or SET or SLET organized by University Grant Commission, CSIR or similar Authority. &

You must have PhD Degree with minimum procedure & standards mentioned in UGC Regulation.

Norms for Associate Professor

 

For Associate Professors, you should have a PhD Degree in relevant/ allied stream from recognized University or Institution. &

You must have a master’s degree with a minimum of fifty-five (55%) percentage marks. &

You must have at least eight (08) years practical experience in the service of Teacher, Research or Research in Academics in College, University, Industry, and Research Institution. &

You should draft new courses, curricula, or technology as the contribution to the innovating education. &

You must obtain a minimum score in API based on PBAS of University Grant Commission Regulation Act.

Relaxation Norms for Female and Disabled Candidates

 

As per the norms for females and differently-abled research scholars, they will be given eight years of relaxation instead of the current six years to complete their Ph.D. degrees and three years instead of two to complete M.Phil. degrees.

Female candidates will also be provided maternity; childcare leaves for up to 240 days once in the entire duration of their M.Phil. or Ph.D. degrees.

    Hello, I completed my M.Tech and qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor post through NET. I don't want to do PhD this year. I have decided on a different university for PhD and I will be applying for that next year. How do I apply for a 1 year (or less) Assistant professor post in universities?
