Norms for Professor


Candidates applying for the post of Professors must have done Ph. D. in a concerned stream. Candidates should have high-quality work published and engaged with minimum 10 publications as research, books and policy pagers.


Candidates must have regular Master Degree with a minimum of 55% percentage marks from authorized University.


Candidates should have ten 10 years working experience as a teacher in College/ University OR practical observation of research at National Level Institutions, University, Doctoral Level and Industries.


Candidates must have got least scores from API (Academic Performance Indicator) presented by PBAS (Performance Based Appraisal System) of University Grant Commission Regulation Act.


Candidates would have an excellent professional knowledge to make a reputation in the concerned area that gives contribution in allied stream.





Norms for Assistant Professor


Candidates must have done Master’s Degree with minimum of fifty-five (55%) percentage marks from Indian authorized University OR licensed foreign University.


Candidates should have qualified NET (National Eligibility Test) OR SET OR SLET organized by University Grant Commission, CSIR OR similar Authority.


Candidates must have Ph. D. Degree with minimum procedure & standards mentioned in UGC regulation.

Norms for Assistant Professor


Candidates having the interest to apply for Associate Professors should have Ph.D. Degree in relevant/ allied stream from recognized University OR Institutions.


Candidates must have Master Degree with minimum of fifty-five (55%) percentage marks.


Candidates must have at least eight (08) years practical experience in the service of Teacher, Research OR Research in academic in College, University, Industry and Research Institutions.


Candidates should draft the new courses, curricula OR technology to give contribution in innovating Education.


Candidates must obtain a minimum score in API based on PBAS of University Grant Commission Regulation Act.

Relaxation Norms for Female disabled candidates


As per the norms for females and differently-abled research scholar’s, they will be given eight years of relaxation instead of the current six years to complete their Ph.D. degrees and three years instead of two to complete M.Phil. degrees.


Female candidates will also be provided maternity; child care leaves for up to 240 days once in the entire duration of their M.Phil. or Ph.D. degrees.

    I am a Company Secretary passed from Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Also I have got a Certificate from Association of Indian Universities mentioning my eligibility for pursuing Ph.d in Commerce. I have also passed MCOM(BP&CG) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), which offers to ICSI students to pass MCOM Degree as per a Memorandum of Understanding signed between ICSI and IGNOU.       Kindly make sure you have the required percentage of marks which is the first eligibility condition for UGC NET. You need to have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC.

      This condition is true General Category candidates. A 5% relaxation is provided to candidates of OBC-NCL category, SC, ST and PWD category in the aggregate marks.

    I have completed BE computers in 2009 and after that I have done post graduate diploma in advanced computing . As per the UGC eligibility criteria they consider PG DIPLOMA equivalent to masters degree. But still I just wanted to know am I eligible or not for NET EXAM.If I pass the exam what will be the scope for getting a job ?

      Yes, after completing the post-graduation diploma you can appear in UGC NET Exam. This year, NET Exam will be conducted on 19th Nov 2017 so still you have chance to appear in the Exam. The UGC NET 2017 Online Application Process will begin from 1st August.
