Attention Aspirants!

 

IBPS PO Exam is conducted for the recruitment of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees in Public Sector Banks.

 

Candidates who are willing to appear in the exam must satisfy the minimum IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria specified by the Organization. If a candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, he/she will not be allowed to take the IBPS PO 2020 Exam.

 

In this article, candidates will get to know the complete details regarding IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2020.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2020

 

Candidates who wish to appear in IBPS PO Exam must fulfill all the aspects of IBPS PO Eligibility 2020.

 

IBPS PO Exam Eligibility is specified based on three aspects: Nationality, Age Limit, and Educational Qualification for Bank PO, which we are going to explain in following sections.

 

 

Age Limit

 

The minimum age for a candidate to give IBPS PO Exam is 20 years and maximum age is 30 years i.e. a candidate must be born on or after 02nd August 1989 but not later than 01st August 1999. IBPS PO Age limit is considered an important criterion for the selection of eligible candidates.

Nationality

 

A candidate must be either –

 

A Citizen of India or

A Subject of Nepal or

A Subject of Bhutan or

A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

 

Note: Candidate who belong from any of the above-mentioned category must have an identity proof certified by the Government of India.

 

 

Educational Qualification for Bank PO

 

A candidate with a Graduation Degree in any branch/stream from a University recognized by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The final result of their Graduation Degree must be declared on or before 28th August 2020.

In case a candidate is awarded with CGPA/OGPA, they must convert it into a percentage (nearest to 2 decimal places) and mention it in the application form.

The fraction of percentage will be counted as whole number i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%. While filling your application form you will be required to fill in your graduation percentage. So, you should mention it accordingly.

Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks multiplied by 100. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided based on Honors marks only.

 

Note: There is no restriction on the number of attempts in IBPS PO Exam. A candidate can attempt the exam as many times as he wants, until he surpasses the IBPS PO Age Limit.

 

 

 

IBPS PO Eligibility 2020- Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

 

According to The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, Section 34, candidates with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for reservation.

 

Categories mentioned under this Act are enlisted below:

 

Blindness and Low Vision.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Locomotor disability including Cerebral Palsy. Leprosy cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims and Muscular Dystrophy.

Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability and Mental Illness.

Multiple Disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including Deaf-Blindness in the posts identified for each disability.

 

Candidates must note that the allocation of these reserved categories will be as prescribed in “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” and as per the vacancies reported to IBPS by Participating Organizations.

Ans - The answer is Yes. Candidates with less than 60% marks in their Graduation Degree are also eligible for IBPS PO Exam because candidates only need a Graduation Degree to appear in the exam.

 

 

Ques 2. Are Engineering students eligible for an IBPS PO position?

 

Ans - Yes, Engineering students can also appear in IBPS PO Exam. Candidates with Graduation Degree from any stream/branch are eligible for IBPS PO 2020 Exam. Engineering Candidates are eligible to appear in any competitive exam. If not, the eligibility for engineering students will be mentioned in the official notice of that exam.

 

 

Ques 3. Are B.Tech 4th year students eligible for the IBPS PO Exam?

 

Ans - Yes, candidates in their final year of their Graduation Degree are not eligible. Candidates must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate of Graduation with percentage of marks obtained, while registering online.

 

 

Ques 4. Is a Partially deaf candidate (deaf by one ear) eligible for IBPS PO?

 

Ans - Yes, candidates who are partially deaf are eligible for IBPS PO 2020 Exam. Above we have mentioned the details regarding IBPS PO Exam Eligibility for candidates with Benchmark Disabilities. Candidates who cannot write the exam or whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any reason, can use their own scribe. Rules for using Scribe are mentioned in the Official Notification of IBPS PO 2020 Exam.

 

 

Ques 5: How Many Attempts I Can Get for IBPS PO Exam?

 

Ans - You can take as many attempts as you want . There is no restriction on number of attempts for IBPS Bank PO Exam. However in SBI PO, you can appear in the exam only 4 time. In upcoming years, IBPS may introduce it as well.
