IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2022

 

Candidates who wish to appear in the Bank PO Exam must fulfill all IBPS PO Eligibility 2022.

IBPS PO Exam Eligibility is based on three aspects: Nationality, Age Limit, and Educational Qualification, which we have explained in the following sections.

 

 

Nationality

 

You must be either –

A Citizen of India or

A Subject of Nepal or

A Subject of Bhutan or

A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India or

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

 

Note: If you belong to any of the above-mentioned categories, you must have identity proof certified by the Government of India.

 

 

Age Limit for Bank PO  

 

The minimum age to give the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection PO Exam is 20 years, and the maximum age is 30 years, i.e., you must be born on or after 02nd August 1992 but not later than 1st August 2002.

IBPS PO 2022 Age limit is considered an essential criterion for the selection of eligible candidates.

Points to Remember

 

The relaxation in the upper age limit for SC/ ST/ OBC is allowed on a cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted.

ST students with physical disabilities will relax in the upper age limit for Bank PO, which is a maximum of 15 years.

No upper age relaxation is provided to the General and Economically weaker sections.

If you are getting an age relaxation, you have to submit original documents with photocopy during the recruitment process as per the participating organization or IBPS.

In case an Ex-servicemen who once joined a Government job on the civil side after availing the benefits given to him as an Ex-servicemen for his re-employment, his Ex-servicemen status for re-employment in Government recruitment ceases.

Ex-servicemen will get no reservation in the Officers’ Cadre.

IBPS PO Educational Qualification 

 

The basic eligibility for Bank PO is that you have a graduation degree in any branch/stream or any equivalent qualification from a recognized University.

Following are the IBPS PO Qualification you need to fulfill for the exam:

The final result of your graduation degree must be declared on or before 22nd August 2022.

If a candidate is awarded CGPA/OGPA, they must convert it into a percentage (nearest to 2 decimal places) and mention it in the application form.

The percentage fraction will be counted as the whole number, i.e., 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%. While filling your application form, you will be required to fill in your graduation percentage.

 

Calculation of Percentage: The IBPS PO eligibility percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by you in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks multiplied by 100. 

This will be applicable for also the Universities where the Class / Grade is decided on Honors marks only.

 

Number of Attempt in IBPS PO Exam: 

There is no restriction on the number of attempts in the Bank PO Exam. It means you can attempt the exam as many times as you want until you pass the IBPS PO Age Limit 2022.

IBPS PO 2022 Eligibility - Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

 

According to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, Section 34, candidates with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for the Bank PO exam reservation.

Categories mentioned under this act are enlisted below:

Blindness and Low Vision.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Locomotor disability, including Cerebral Palsy.

Leprosy cured Dwarfism, Acid attack victims, and Muscular Dystrophy.

Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, and Mental Illness.

Multiple Disabilities from persons under clauses (a) to (d) include Deaf-Blindness in the posts identified for each disability

 

Note: The allocation of these reserved categories will be as prescribed in “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” and as per the vacancies reported to IBPS by Participating Organizations.

Guidelines for PwD using a Scribe

 

Candidates who are visually impaired and whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any reason can use their scribe at their cost during the online examination (Preliminary and Main).

 

The following rules are applicable if you are using scribe: 

You will have to arrange your own scribe at your own cost.

The scribe may be from any education stream.

The candidate and the scribe will have to give a surety that the scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria.

Further, it is found that you did not fulfill any laid down eligibility criteria or hide material facts. In that case, your application will stand canceled, irrespective of the result of the CRP. 

If you are using a scribe, you are eligible for a compensatory time of 20 minutes or otherwise advised for every hour of the examination. 

The scribe ought not to be a possibility for the online assessment under (CRPO/MT-XII) arranged by the competitor.

If any violation is found in the above stages, the candidature for CRP of the applicant & scribe will be canceled.

If you are eligible for and wish to use the services of a scribe in the examination, you should invariably be careful and indicate the same in the online application form.

Any resulting request may not be engaged. Just applicants enlisted for compensatory time will be permitted such concessions since compensatory time given to aspirants will be framework-based.

 

 

Guidelines for Intellectually Disabled, Visually Impaired, Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy 

 

Candidates with more than 40% Intellectual Disability (autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness), visually weakened (not less than 40% of disability), locomotor disability, and cerebral palsy are allowed a compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination.

 

Note: Only visually weakened who are using the service of scribes are eligible for this compensation.
