The campus of IIT Delhi was established in 1961 to develop the science, engineering, and technology field. It is situated in Hauz Khas in South Delhi.

IIT Delhi provides two internships for design units.
The first one is the Summer Internship for 50 working days after the 6th semester. The main motive of the IIT Delhi Summer Internship is to provide practical knowledge of theoretical concepts. This internship helps the students in their final year projects.
And the second one is a Semester-long internship of 100 days duration, in which a student can earn 5 design units.
