SSC CGL Physical Disability - Posts, Reservation & Relaxation Criteria

 

Every year a large number of Physical Disable Candidates appear in the SSC Exam.

 

Indian Government has 3% reservation policy for all vacancies of the government job for PwD Candidates.  As per this policy, SSC provides a complete list of posts and reservation criteria for Physically disabled candidates.

 

Definition Candidates with 40% and more physical disability, would be considered as PwD Candidates. This type of candidates can get the reservation under PwD Category.

Nature of Physical Disabilities in SSC CGL 2022 Exam

 

To give employment opportunities to the larger populace, Staff Selection Commission has relaxed many types of physical disabilities including handicapped, eye vision hearing impairment in SSC CGL 2022 Exam. Candidates who belong to following PwD Categories can apply for CGL 2022 Examination:

 

OH - Orthopedically Handicapped

 OA - One Arm affected

 OL - One Leg affected

 OAL - One Arm and one Leg affected

 BL - Both Legs affected

 B - Blind

 LV - Low Vision

 PD - Partially Deaf

 D - Deaf

 PB - Partially Blind

 HH - Hearing Handicapped

 

 

Physical Requirements That Must be in SSC CGL Aspirants

 

If you want to get the central government job, then you should fulfil the physical requirements of:

 

 S - Sitting

 ST - Standing

 W - Walking

 MF - Manipulation by Fingers

 RW - Reading and Writing

 SE - Seeing

Age Relaxation for PwD Candidates

 

As per the latest SSC CGL Notification, the permissible relaxation in upper age limit, as well as category-codes for claiming age relaxation, will be calculated as on 1st August 2022. Below, we have mentioned the age relaxation for PwD Candidates. You can check your age limit and apply for the eligible post.

Physical Standards for Inspector - Relaxation for PwD Candidates

 

According to the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria, PwD Candidates can apply for the post of Inspector in some departments. SSC provides the relaxation for some PwD (persons with disability) category candidates.

 

There is no physical relaxation in height, chest, and weight for PwD Candidates for Inspector post in Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Office. However, orthopedically disabled candidates are allowed in Physical Test with the following relaxation:

 

Walking - For OAL & OL categories.

Cycling - For OA, OL & OAL categories.

Exemption from Payment of Exam fee for PwD Candidates

 

In Staff Selection Commission examination, Persons with disabilities (PwD Candidates) are exempt from paying application fees. But, they need to submit the Physical Disability Certificate as required by the commission.

 

 

Posts for Which PwD Candidates Can Apply

 

In SSC CGL 2022 Exam, there are two types of job posts: - Desk job or field job. Physical disability candidates can apply for the post of desk work. But some posts are not suitable for Physical Disability Candidates as the job profile includes rigorous physical movement. The following posts are flagged inappropriate for PwD candidates:

Disabilities Allowed for the Post of JSO in MOSPI

 

Staff Selection Commission allows disabilities of Low Vision, Hearing Impaired, and Locomotor in SSC CGL 2022 Exam for the post of Junior Statistical Officer in MOSPI (M/o Statistics & Programme Implementation) department. You can check the table of physical disability for JSO below:

New Updated Categories of PwD candidates for SSC CGL

 

As per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, new categories of disabilities such as Autism, Dwarfism, Acid Attack victims, Muscular Dystrophy, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness and Multiple Disabilities, etc. have been included in SSC CGL also.

 

Now, candidates can apply with such disabilities can mention their disabilities in the SSC CGL Application Form by giving details given in the drop-down menu.

 

Candidates suffering from various disabilities may select following PwD categories in the application form.

Note: - In CPT (Computer Proficiency Test), no exemption is allowed for any category of PwD candidates.

    Sir I apply for ssc cgl under EWS catagory along with VISUALLY impaired PWD sub-category. And if the PWD cut off is greater than EWS final cut off and I clear only EWS cut off but not VI cut off.should I be selected under EWS catagory or not?...plz reply
