The Staff Selection Commission has fixed some factors on which they decide whether a candidate is eligible or not for the exam.

A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

2. Age Limit
For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: The minimum age for a candidate to give the exam is 18 and the maximum age is 30 years as of 01st January 2020.
For Stenographer Grade ‘D’: The minimum age for a candidate to give the exam is 18 and the maximum age is 27 years as of 01st January 2020.

3. Educational Qualification
Candidates who are appearing or have passed the 12th class or equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University are eligible to give the SSC Stenographer Exam.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2022 Process
After getting aware of the complete eligibility criteria, you should check the selection process of the SSC Stenographer.
The process of SSC Stenographer Recruitment consists of two phases: Computer Based Examination and Skill Test.
Phase 1: Computer-Based Examination
In the first phase, Eligible candidates will be called for the Computer Based Examination. In this stage, the candidates have to answer the Multiple Choice Questions. Based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test.
Phase 2: Skill Test
After clearing the Computer Based Examination you will have to appear in the Skill Test. In this test, you have to transcribe the matter on a computer.
