SSC JHT Recruitment 2019 – Apply Online, Syllabus, Pattern, Result & Info



SSC is one of the toughest exams among all the national level exam and SSC JHT is the exam which is conducted by the Staff Selection Committee for the post of a Junior Hindi Translator.

The aim of conducting the SSC JHT is to recruit the eligible candidates for the post of a Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, Hindi Pradhayapak.

After the selection in the following exam, the selected candidates can be posted in assorted ministries, Department of State and Central Government.

SSC JHT Eligibility


SSC Commission has made certain rules, which a candidate must fulfil before appearing in the exam.


SSC Junior Hindi Translator eligibility criterion mainly divided into 3 factors-

Age Limit

Educational Qualification

Nationality of the candidate.


Before filling the Online Application Form, candidates are required to fulfil the SSC JHT eligibility criteria.


Age Eligibility


For General Category the maximum age limit to appear in the SSC Junior Hindi Translator is 30 years as on 1st January 2019.

3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date for receipt of application.

Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989.

Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof

33 years

Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ ST)

Note: Date of birth will be considered as per the Matriculation certificate/Secondary examination or any equivalent certificate.


Educational Qualification


SSC JHT Educational Qualification is classified into four parts. Candidates must possess any one of them to fulfil the academic qualification criterion. You can check it below:


Candidate must have qualified the post-graduation in Hindi with English as a compulsory subject or optional subject or the exam mode must be English medium.


Candidate must have qualified the post-graduation in English with Hindi as a compulsory subject or optional subject or the exam mode must be Hindi medium.


Candidate must have qualified the post-graduation in any subject from Hindi medium and must have English subject as a compulsory or optional or as an exam mode.


Candidate must have qualified the post-graduation in any subject from English medium and must have Hindi subject as a compulsory or optional or as an exam mode.


Candidate must have possessed any one of the following conditions:


Having a diploma or certificate course in Hindi to English translation or English to Hindi translation.


Having two years’ experience of translation work in Central or State Government or PSU.





To appear in the SSC Junior Hindi Translator a candidate must fulfil any of the citizenship from the following list:

Citizen of India

Citizen of Nepal

Citizen of Bhutan

Tibetan refugee who permanently settled in India, before 1st January 1962.

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Note: Candidate must have an Indian citizenship certificate or ID proof issued by the Indian Government.

The eligible candidates can fill their forms from the official website of the SSC . For the 2019 session, the commission will startd the SSC JHT Online Application Procedure tentatively from 27th August 2019.

Go to the official website of the SSC.

Click apply in Junior Hindi Translator, Junior translator, Senior Hindi Translator Hindi Pradhyapak.

Fill all the required field.

Complete the form by clicking on “I agree”.

Preview and verify all your details and submit your application form.

Proceed to make payment. fee can be paid through SBI Challan or SBI Net banking and Submit it.

Take a print-out of SSC JHT Application form.



SSC JHT Exam Pattern


Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC JHT in two phase –

Paper 1 and Paper 2. Exam pattern will help you out to get an outline of the exam. So, that you can prepare well for your exam.


You will be eligible to appear in Paper-2 only when you will qualify Paper 1.

For every wrong answer, you will lose 0.25 marks only in Paper-1.

Important Topics for SSC JHT Paper-2


SSC JHT Paper II is a descriptive type of paper which is designed to examine the translative ability of the candidates. Below we have mentioned the exam pattern for SSC JHT.

In SSC JHT Paper – 2 :

Candidates will be given 2 passages for translation. Out of these two passages one will be given for translating it from Hindi to English and the other translation passage will be for English to Hindi.

Candidates have to write two essays one in English and Hindi language.



SSC JHT Admit Card 2019


As per the Staff Selection Commission norms, candidates can download the SSC JHT Admit Card only from the official website of the SSC.


Admit card is the most important document for SSC JHT exam. You are required to bring it on your exam day. Staff Selection Commission will issue the Admit card in December 2019. SSC will issue JHT Admit Card separately for both the Papers.

Candidates need to choose their regional website, which was selected while filling the application form.

After downloading the SSC JHT admit card 2019 you are suggested to check all the credentials of the admit card are correct. In case, if any of your detail is wrong, then you can contact the SSC JHT authorities in time, to avoid the exam hinderances.

Essential Documents to Carry Along with SSC MTS Admit Card 2019 in Exam


Admit card is the necessary document to carry with you on your D-day. But there are other documents also which you are supposed to bring along with the SSC JHT admit card. You can check the list of those documents below:

Photo ID Proof: It can be any of your Voter ID Card, Pan Card, Driving License, Aadhar Card .

Passport sized photographs.  


Above mentioned documents are mandatory to bring. If any candidate fails to bring the documents, will not be allowed to appear in the SSC Junior Hindi Translator exam.

The SSC authorities will publish the SSC JHT result on their official website. The result will be released after one month of exam completion. Candidate must keep in mind, their result will not be sent to their registered address. They have to check it online.

Note: SSC has released the final answer key of Paper-1, along with their question paper of JHT, Junior Translator Senior, Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak.

All the appeared candidate can take a print-out of their answer key with the respective question paper till 3rd July 2019. You can check the official notice here.
