The JOAPS has started to the providing the offer letter to the candidates who secured the seats during JAM 2020 Admission.
According to the latest notification released by IIT Kanpur, there are some major changes in the IIT JAM admission procedure that will be taking place due to operational reasons. You can find the updates issued by the IIT JAM officials below-
The JAM authorities have declared the third round to be the LAST and FINAL round of the seat allocation through JOAPS Portal.
Documents will no longer be evaluated through the JOAPS portal. They will be examined directly by the Admitting Institute in accordance with their academic calendar. The submission of the documents is therefore made Optional. All materials submitted through the portal until 5:00 p.m. on 7 August 2020 will be forwarded to the respective Admitting Institutes.
The dates for the WIithdrawal from the admission process are updated. The revised dates are August 04 – August 07, 2020 until 5:00 PM.
The fourth round allocation of seats will now be replaced by the spot admission round conducted independently by some of the Admitting Institutes.
Depending on the seats available and the academic calendar, different admitting institutes will have their own dates and process for the spot admission. An admitting institution can NOT conduct spot admission if it has no vacant seats.
The JAM 2020 Organizing Institute (IIT Kanpur) is not associated with the spot admission and will not be responsible for the processes and results.

Note - This year the exam conducting authority IIT Kanpur has introduced an additional 4th Round of Admission.

The admission in IISc Bangalore and IITs will be given on the basis of all India merit list of JAM. You can check the IIT JAM Counselling 2020 procedure to get admission in IITs and IISc below.
Step 1 – Visit the official website and log in through enrollment ID and password.
Step 2 – Enter the required details such as choice of programs, the order of preferences, education qualification, aggregate CGPA, category, etc.
Step 3 – After filling the details, candidates have to pay the IIT JAM admission fee which is INR 600. The fee is non-refundable and has to be paid through online mode (credit/debit card or net banking).
Note:- You can also pay IIT JAM Admission fees through e-challan of state bank of India.

Candidates who want to appear in the IIT JAM Counselling procedure must require some important documents with xerox. Below, we have mentioned the list of documents that are required while filling the form.
Documents Required for IIT JAM Admission – All Category
Class 10th, 12th Mark Sheet.
Qualifying degree: Mark sheets of all semesters/ years
Document Required for IIT JAM Admission - General Category
Nationality Certificate: Birth Certificate or Voter ID or First page of Passport or School Transfer Certificate (TC) showing Nationality or Nationality Certificate issued by the authorized government agency.
(Please note that documents such as Aadhar Card, Ration Card, Driving License, College/ Institute/ School ID, Bank Passbook, PAN card, Mark sheets are not considered as Nationality Certificate).

As per the latest notification of IIT Kanpur, the JOAPS website is now accepting the missing document for which an undertaking was submitted earlier by the students. Earlier the last date for submitting your missing documents was 20th July 2020. But the conducting authorities have now extended the deadline till 16th August 2020 by 5:00 PM.
Note the following: -
If a candidate already submitted all the required documents, there is no need to upload anything again.
You need to submit all the documents together (including the documents you submitted earlier). The only exception is the students in the Final year/semester of their program.
If a candidate does not have the final year/semester's document, then they can submit an undertaking in the specified format.
You can update your academic records if you filled them incorrectly and/or incompletely earlier.
If you do not submit ALL the required documents (including FINAL year/semester's document or equivalent undertaking) by the deadline, your application will be considered incomplete.
Candidates who have not uploaded a valid category certificate of their respective category (SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PWD) are getting a “defect” status at their application, must upload their category certificate till the last date declared by the official website.
No submissions will be accepted after the last date.
If an applicant fails to submit a valid certificate of their category before the given date, will be considered in the General category for the admission process. Given that the candidates meet the General category’s cut off.
A valid nationality certificate must also be submitted to the respective institute at the time of joining.
All the information regarding the admission procedure is sent to your registered email address and the OTPs (One Time Passwords) are sent to the registered mobile number.

Only one application form has to be filled irrespective of the number of papers qualified.
Also, the application form must be completed. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Hence, candidates must take care of uploading documents and filling in the information carefully on time.
A fixed number of seats in the institutions will be reserved for applicants belonging to various categories.
Candidates seeking admission under categories like SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD will have to provide the certificate issued by the proficient authority if someone is unable to provide the certificate their admission will not be considered under the respective reserved category. However, candidates can change their category at the time of filling the admission application form.
Every year, the organizing institute releases three IIT JAM Admission lists during the counseling process. The admission list will be made according to the JAM Score and total IIT JAM Seats. However, this year a fourth-round is also introduced in the admission process about which the complete details are still awaited.
First IIT JAM Admission List 2020
After successfully filling the IIT JAM Admission form 2020, conducting IIT will release the admission list. If candidates find their name on the Admission list, then they have to pay seat booking fees.
Second IIT JAM 2020 Admission List
After releasing the first list, conducting IIT will release the second admission list. If you are not accepted the college allotted in the first counselling, then you can also fill the second counselling form. If you want to take the admission in allotted college then you have to pay the fees and submit the acceptance letter.
Third IIT JAM Admission List 2020
This is the last process of IIT JAM Counselling. After this IIT JAM 2020 Admission List, you can’t get admission in IITs and IISc.
Fourth IIT JAM 2020 Round
The FOURTH ROUND allocation of seats will now be replaced by the SPOT ADMISSION round conducted independently by some of the Admitting Institutes.

To make you aware of the detailed procedure for taking admission in IITs through JAM Score, we are sharing a few important points that you must keep in mind while applying.
Once a candidate is offered a seat, he/ she can choose from the following actions –
Accept and freeze: The candidate who wish to keep the seat offered to him/ her and do not wish to update any further.
Accept with the upgrade: Choosing this action will reserve the seat and will also enable the candidate to upgrade the seat in further rounds.
Reject with quit: Choosing this option will reject the offered seat and the candidate will not be considered for the admission procedure in further rounds.
After selecting Accept and freeze or Accept and upgrade. the options that reserve the seat, the candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 10000/- (General /OBC-NCL) or Rs 5000/- (SC/ST/PwD category Applicants) to reserve the respective seat. And if one chooses to Reject and Quit an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number to confirm the action.

Applicants who receive the seat from their higher preference list don’t need to pay again to reserve the seat. And if someone cancels the seat during the second round, can choose to withdraw and the fee will be refunded to their account after deducting Rs 1000/- processing fee.
If there are still any seats remaining vacant they will be allotted to the candidates through the third and fourth admission list by August 2020. This will be the final list, after this list, the admission process will stop for the 2020-2021 session.
Also, all the documents that prove the eligibility must be submitted to the respective institute before the admission.

Your earlier offer will be canceled automatically if you get UPGRADED-OFFER.
All applicants who got an offer in Round 2 (either Upgraded-Offer or New/Fresh offer) should exercise one of the three options available when they log into JOAPS.
All applicants who got the Fresh/ New offer in the second IIT JAM Admission List 2020 should read the instructions about the options carefully and choose. Once an option is chosen and confirmed, a request for change of option will not be accepted.
The last date for making the decision with the successful payment of the Seat Booking Fee will be declared soon. Applicants with Upgraded-Offer NEED NOT have to pay the Seat Booking Fee.
At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form.
The admitted candidates may also have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute.
In case a candidate is not found physically fit to pursue his/her chosen course of study, his/her admission is liable to be canceled.

The admission in CCMN Institutes (NITs & CFTIs) will NOT be done through the common JAM admission process. After qualifying the IIT JAM exam, candidates have to apply for the admission through CCMN website. No candidate will be automatically considered for the admission.
Also, the offer to the seat will be provisional. If the candidate fails to fulfill all the requirements for the specified date the admission will be canceled.
