IIT JAM Exam Centres 2022 – Important Points to Keep in Mind

 

 At the time of JAM Application Form submission, candidates are given 3 choices to select the Exam Cities. The council then allots the IIT JAM Exam Centre according to the candidate’s preferences.

 When you choose the first city, the zone gets determined and you have to choose the other 2 other cities from that zone only.

 The exam city has one or more exam centers for IIT JAM 2022.

 Once the center is allotted, the request to change the city or town will be accepted only for exceptional circumstances.

  There is a total of 103 cities available in all 8 zones to choose the exam center.

How to Change Exam Centre Under Exceptional Circumstances?

 

While filling up the application form, the students have to fill 3 cities based on their priority. The JAM 2022 Organizing Committee reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one and allot a city that may not be any one of the choices stated by the candidate. Refer to the below points for the key information about changing IIT JAM Exam Centre.

 You can’t change an exam centre within the same city/or town you opted for earlier.

 You have to send a request through the JOAPS portal along with an online payment of INR 500.

 The final decision to change the exam centre will be taken by the organizing institute only.

 

 

General Instructions for the IIT JAM Exam

 

The exam will be held in two sessions –

  For Physics (PH), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Biotechnology (BT) subjects JAM exam will be held in session -1.

 In session -2, the exam will be held for Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA) and Economics (EN) subjects.

 Candidates must report at the JAM Exam Centre 35 minutes before the exam.

 Candidates should carry the original photo ID proof along with the JAM Admit Card, without these candidates will not be allowed in the examination centre.

 Mobile Phones, Calculators or any other Electronic Devices are not allowed in the JAM Exam Centre.

 Candidates need not carry their own rough sheet in the exam hall. Scribble Pads are provided to the candidates for the rough work. The applicants have to write their registration number and name on the pads.
