Ques: How many IIT JAM Paper one can apply for?

 

Ans: An aspirant can apply for either one or two out of the six subjects.  But remember test schedule of conducting these two papers must not be same.

 

 

Ques: Do I need to pay registration fees for both the exams?

 

Ans: The JAM Examination Fee will be paid separately for both papers for which you are applying. Payment can be made using debit/credit/ net banking through the payment gateway. Note down that the application fee is not refundable.

 

 

Ques: Do I need to send the printout of the application form?

 

Ans: No, you don’t need to send any hard copy of the documents at IITs. IIT JAM Application forms will not be accepted in offline mode.

Ques: Can I bring a calculator during the examination?

 

Ans: Candidates will not be allowed to carry the calculator in the exam hall. Instead of it, IIT JAM Virtual Calculator will be available on the computer screen during the exam for performing mathematical calculations.

 

 

Ques: Can Engineering students appear in IIT JAM?

 

Ans: This is one of the most asked questions, whether an engineering student is eligible or not.

Yes, an engineering student can appear in IIT JAM Exam. He or she must satisfy the eligibility criteria for Joint Admission Test. The eligibility criteria are different for various institutes. Ques: Which NITs is best for M.Sc.?

 

Ans:  We all know that NITs are the second most preferred institutes for JAM qualified students after IITs. The JAM qualified candidates who fail to achieve the JAM Cutoff Marks for IITs & IISc Admission, can take admission into NITs through CCMN Counselling.

Ques: What are the special provisions available for PwD candidates in JAM Examination?

 

Ans: Pwd benefits are given to only those who have at least 40% permanent physical impairment (Viz., hearing impairment, low vision or blindness, locomotor disability etc).

 

To avail the relaxation under the PwD category, the candidates must upload a recently obtained valid PwD certificate issued by competent authority.

 

 

Ques: Do OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates need to upload OBC-NCL certificate?

 

Ans: No, OBC non-creamy layer aspirants, don't need to upload their OBC-NCL certificate at the time of applying for M.Sc IIT Exam. The information of category is required at this stage only to claim the concessional rate for the online registration fees for JAM Exam.

 

Rank list will be prepared according to the category mentioned by the candidates in the registration form. After the result declaration, candidates need to submit the certificate in the prescribed format along with required documents for admission. The final seat allocation will be based on the caste certificate submitted by candidates.

 

 

Ques: Will I be given rough paper for calculations during the IIT JAM Exam?

 

Yes, A scribble pad will be provided to the test takers in the exam hall which can be used to do the rough work during the exam. The candidates need to return the scribble pad after the exam gets over.

Ques: How many preferences can be added in the counselling form?

 

Ans: Candidates can add as many preferences as possible in their counselling form. But they need to ensure the ERs and MEQs requirements of chosen institutes.

 

 

Ques: Can changes be made in the programme choices after filling the admission form?

 

Ans: Candidates can modify their "Programme Choices" after submitting the application form before the deadline for submissions.  Candidates cannot change any other information in the application after submitting their application.

 

 

Ques: If my signature in the IIT JAM admit card is not visible, what should I do?

 

Ans: If you find such type of error in your admit card, then you should immediately email it to the organizing institute. They will consult you to upload a new signature or a new photograph. If any text mistake is there then it will be corrected and a new admit card will be issued to you.

 

 

Ques: Which IIT will conduct IIT JAM 2021?

 

Ans: IIT JAM 2021 Exam is expected to be conducted by IIT Guwahati

 

 

Ques: What is the medium of the IIT JAM papers?

 

Ans: Although, Hindi & other regional medium students keep demanding for Hindi/Regional language papers but IIT JAM Exam is conducted in English only.
