The Staff Selection Commission has released a tenative calendar for SSC CHSL 2022 Exam. According to the schedule, SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam will be conducted in the month of Februrary or March 2023. What is SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam / Descriptive Paper?

 

SSC CHSL Descriptive Paper is the second phase of SSC CHSL Recruitment Examination. For the first time, the Descriptive Paper was conducted for SSC CHSL 2015 Exam.

A candidate becomes applicable to be a part of this examination only after qualifying the SSC CHSL Tier-1 examination.

When SSC CHSL Results for Tier 1 exam are announced, the name and roll number of the qualified candidates are announced. These qualified candidates have to face the tier 2 (descriptive test) on the scheduled date set as per the scheduled date and events.

 

 

Syllabus for SSC CHSL Tier II Exam / Descriptive Paper

 

The descriptive paper will be given in a narrative and written form. You will be allowed to choose your own medium in writing the exam. It’s a “Pen & Paper Mode” exam.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 (Descriptive Paper) Exam Pattern

 

SSC CHSL (10+2) Tier II Exam will be a written exam of descriptive form. You need to write essays and letters or application within the word limit set by the officials.

Below, we are giving you the officially prescribed exam pattern for writing the descriptive paper, so that you will be able to prepare for the test without any confusion.

To be Noted:

The minimum qualifying marks for the descriptive paper will be 33%.

The marks of the descriptive paper will be included with Tier I exam to decide the merit list of successful candidates.

Provision of Compensatory Time: The Visually Handicapped/ orthopedically handicapped candidates afflicted by Cerebral Palsy and the orthopedically handicapped candidate (other than a candidate afflicted by Cerebral Palsy) who has a loco motor disability (40% or more) wherein dominant writing extremity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of the candidate (such deficiency may either be indicated in the medical certificate submitted by the candidate or else is visible and which after due verification by the Regional Director/Deputy Director concerned is found to be legitimate and bonafide), will be allowed compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour.

2. Start reading newspapers to gain knowledge regarding the major happenings and then pick important news topics and write about them in short.

3. Preferred newspapers are The Hindu, The Indian Express, Economic Times etc. (For those who are opting English Medium) and Dainik Tribune, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, Navabharat (for Hindi Medium candidates). You should read 10-15 articles daily.

4. Learn innovative words/ increase your vocabulary so that you can use different suitable words in your essay.

5. Study basic grammar. To form a meaningful phrase, you should write them using correct grammar.

6. Write the essay by dividing it into three phases-

Conclusion of 50 words

7. Explain the matter with the help of valid data, facts & figures, examples etc. to increase the quality of your writing.

8. Divide your essay into paragraphs for easy readability.

How to Write Letters/ Applications for SSC CHSL Descriptive Paper?

 

1. Letters/ Applications writing will tell your skills to write officials mails.

2. You must follow a prescribed format to write a letter or application.

3. You cannot put your own pattern.

4. While writing a letter you must keep the following points in your mind:

 Purpose of writing

 To the person (address)

 Appropriate language

 Complete message

 Fluency

Write an Essay in about 250 words on the "Beti Bacho Beti Padao" initiative of the government of India. Also, state how you could contribute to the fight against girl child discrimination. (SSC MTS 2017)

However, your marks will not get deducted, the extra matter you have written will not be evaluated by the examiner.     Sir I scored 137 marks in chsl 2016 as per ssc final key but marks list on ssc website shows my marks 134.5 only. There was one wrong question but marks of that question are not awarded to me. I have also send mail and letter to ssc nr division, so my question is, Is there any chance of increasing my numbers from 134.5 to 137
