Who is a Junior Engineer?

 

Junior Engineer can be understood as an entry position to a completely committed engineering profession.

He works under the supervision of an engineer in several fields like - industrial plants, technology firms, construction, maritime, infrastructure, architecture, electronics, etc.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts SSC JE exam every year to select eligible candidates for recruitment of Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) posts for various departments/organizations of Government of India.

It is an entry-level post in government sector and also known as an inspector of works at a time.

Eligibility of SSC or RRB Junior Engineer - Who is Eligible?

 

You can appear in these exams only after completing the eligibility criteria. For this, you need to satisfy the minimum qualification and age limit to apply for both exams.

Educational Qualification: Must have completed his Bachelor’s degree in any engineering courses from a recognized university.

Age Limit: It varies as per the field and department of aspirants like Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical.

Nationality: Candidates who are citizens of the following countries are also eligible to take the test:

A citizen of India

A subject of Nepal

A subject of Bhutan

A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
