HRD Ministry issues NIFR Rankings for Top Indian Colleges & Universities

Indian Universities RankingThe Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has released the list stating the best Private and Government educational institutions in the country.

Institutes from the southern states came on top ranks according to the survey report from National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). With this survey about 3500 institutions have been ranked in six categories.

 

The NIRF was formed by HRD Ministry on September 29, 2015 to evaluate and rank the higher education institutions of the country.

 

 

 

 

The first ranking announced Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras as the top Engineering Institute followed by IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur.

 

The List of top ten Engineering Institutes are as follows 

1. Indian Institute of Technology, MadrasIIT Madras

2. Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay

3. Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

4. Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi

5. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur

6. Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

7. Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad

8. Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar

9. Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar-Rupnagar

10. Indian Institute of Technology, Patna

 

In the category for Management Institute, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bengaluru topped the list, followed by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Udaipur, IIM Kozhikode etc.

 

The top ten Management Institutes are as follows IIM Bengaluru

1. Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru

2. Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

3. Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta

4. Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow

5. Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur

6. Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode

7. International Management Institute, New Delhi

8. Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal

9. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur

10. Indian Institute of Management, Indore

 

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has been announced as the top institute in the University category followed by Institute of Chemical Technology (Mumbai), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and University of Hyderabad.

 

Top ten rankings are as follows 

1. Indian Institute of Science, BangaloreIISc

2. Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai

3. Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi

4. University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad

5. Tezpur University, Tezpur, Assam

6. University of Delhi, Delhi

7. Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi

8. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram

9. Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

10. Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh

 

In pharmacy category, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) Manipal came on no. 1 rank with University Institute of Pharma Sciences (UIPS) Chandigarh and Jamia Hamdard New Delhi ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

 

Top ten ranking of Pharmaceutical institutes are as follows 

1. Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, ManipalMCOPS

2. University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chandigarh

3. Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi

4. Poona College of Pharmacy, Erandwane, Pune

5. Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, Ahmedabad

6. Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai

7. Birla Institute of technology, Ranchi

8. Amrita School of Pharmacy, Kochi

9. JSS college of Pharmacy, Ootacamund

10. JSS college of Pharmacy, Mysuru

The base for the ranking decided by NIFR, was survey done among the students, alumni, parents, employees and the public. Learning resources, graduation results and research were the criteria of ratings.
