On, the occasion of our former president Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s 85th Birthday, The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has declared to launch a post-doctoral research fellowships in his name.
The fellowship program is aimed at better advancement of young scientists or the students pursuing PhD in the field of environment and ecology.
Why the fellowship is named in the name of Kalam?
Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was a dynamic person with lots of knowledge and innovative ideas. He has become a motivation for every youngster who want to perform researches in the field of science, technology etc.
Who can take the advantage of Post-Doctoral Fellowship?
The Environment Ministry has fixed some specific eligibility criteria for students to grant the 3 years duration fellowships. Below are some conditions given –
The applicants are required to be preferably below 35 years.
The candidates must have either completed PhD or are about to complete in areas related to environment and ecology.
The students should have a good academic record.
Benefits of Post-Doctoral Scholarships
The fellowship includes a monthly fellowship equivalent to a research associate. The annual research contingency grant will be of INR 1.5 lakh.
The post-doctoral fellowship will also include house rent allowance and other benefits.
How to Apply?
The ministry will advertise about the fellowship to call for applications shortly and the guidelines for the program will be uploaded on the ministry’s website.
The Ministry proposes to constitute a Committee of Experts headed by Dr. R.A Mashelkar for selection of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Post-Doctoral Research Fellows.
