Steve Easterbrook appointed as CEO of McDonald’s Corporation

McD New CEO Steve EasterbrookMcDonald’s has named UK-born Steve Easterbrook as its new chief executive and president after Don Thompson stepped down amid falling sales.

Mr. Easterbrook, currently senior executive vice-president and chief brand officer, will succeed Don Thompson who decided to retire as President and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s on 1 March 2015 after spending nearly 25 years in the company. Thompson was the first African-American to head the company since it was founded in 1955.

McDonald has also appointed Pete Bensen as the Chief Administrative Officer of the company with effect from 1 March 2015. Bensen is currently Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of McDonald’s.

Kevin Ozan, who currently serves as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller, will succeed Bensen as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer with effect from 1 March 2015.
