Star India Pvt Ltd acquired Maa Television Network Ltd

Star India acquired Maa NetworkStar India Pvt. Lmt. has now aquired the Telugu television channel network Maa Television Network Ltd (MTNL) including its brand, assets and four channels for an undisclosed amount. Telugu TV Market is the second largest regional market in terms of revenue potential.

The acquisition will come into effect once the policies and procedures in the business of Maa TV are aligned with the policies of Star India.

However, the management of Maa Television Network will remain with its owners Nimmagadda Prasad, Telugu film personalities Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Allu Arvind.

STAR India is an Indian media and entertainment company owned by 21st Century Fox and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

STAR India’s has 33 channels in eight languages including STAR Plus, STAR Gold, STAR World, Jalsha Movies, etc.

About Maa Television Network Ltd:

Founded by Penmetsa Murali Krishnam Raju in 2002, Maa TV is a Telugu-language television channel based in Hyderabad, India. Later, it was taken over by Nimmagadda Prasad.

MAA TV has four channels in the Network. They are Maa TV, Maa Music, Maa Movies and Maa Gold.
