IIT JEE Advanced 2020: What’s New


According to the JEE Advanced 2020 Date notification, the examination will be conducted in online mode.

IIT Delhi will conduct the JEE Advanced 2020 Exam on 17th May 2020.

The exam will be conducted online in India & 4 other countries: Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore. Sri Lanka and Ethiopia have been removed from the exam centres list.

For JEE Advanced 2020 Exam, top 2,50,000 students from JEE Main 2020 exam will be shortlisted.

Are you Eligible for JEE Advanced?


As per the new rules of JEE Advanced, Aadhar card will be a compulsory document for JEE exam applicants

Any candidate failing to produce the Aadhar card will not be considered eligible for JEE Advanced Exam.

The detailed eligibility criteria is prescribed on the official JEE Advanced Portal.

Candidates are suggested to read the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

How to Apply for JEE Advanced Exam?


A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Your first step towards IIT JEE Advanced Exam is the Online Application Process.

JEE Advanced Exam for 2020 session will be on 17th May 2020. You must be very careful & attentive while filling the JEE Advanced Form. So, if you fulfil the eligibility conditions, read out the JEE Advanced Application Form guidelines for seamless submission.



Instructions to Candidates for Filling JEE Advanced Application Form


A candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the jpg format in such a manner that image size should be between 50 KB to 300 KB for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.

Candidate’s Personal Contact Number & Email ID are the pre-requisites.

If you belong to the reserved category keep caste certificate handy. Several times, students claim they belong to a particular caste, which is considered as OBC by his or her state but not by the Centre. Such candidates are rejected. Make sure your described details match with the guidelines.

Review the Application form thoroughly before submitting it.

Once you’ve successfully submitted the JEE Advanced Application Form, Save the JOSAA Candidate login details & write it in a notepad. You’ll need the JEE Advanced login in future.




What is the JEE Advanced Paper Pattern - Paper 1, Paper 2 & AAT


JEE Advanced Paper Pattern is the most important thing that will carve your preparation plan. JEE convener institutes keep on changing the exam pattern & marking scheme frequently.

The paper can be substituted in the following parts:

  1. JEE Advanced 2020 Paper 1 - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
  2. JEE Advanced 202 Paper 2 - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.

Paper 1 and Paper 2


 The question papers will contain MCQ type and Numerical Answer type questions.
JEE Advanced Paper 1 & 2 will have three section and exam duration of three hours for each.
Total Marks: 360.
There is negative marking in the exam. It discourages random guesses in MCQs, and therefore the scores are more reliable. There will be 1/4th Mark deduction.



Architecture Aptitude Test:


JEE Architecture (AAT) Exam will be held through offline mode only.
There are 5 sections in the paper. Overall exam duration will be 3 hours.
The question paper will be in English language only.
